Is the NY FreeStyle Pass worth it?
It depends! Their hop-on hop-off offer is great and the centerpiece of this pass. Keep in mind, however, hat the hop-on-hop-off buses are not suited for regular transportation within New York City. They are sightseeing buses.
Pros of the FreeStyle Pass
- extensive hop-on-hop-off bus offer
Cons of the FreeStyle Pass
- not worth it if you do not want to do a hop-on-hop-off bus tour
- fewer attraction choices compared to other passes
My personal opinion
The FreeStyle Pass is a good pass, only if you want to make use of many hop-on hop-off bus tours. Their offer is extensive and will cover the best bus routes. Additionally, you can choose to visit New York’s top attractions. Because the buses are great for first-time visitors, I do not think the pass is worth it for repeat visitors.
I recommend the FreeStyle Pass to:
- everyone who wants to explore many hop-on-hop-off bus routes
- first-time visitors

No. Unfortunately, you cannot share your FreeSyle Pass with anyone. Each attraction can only be visited once.
Does the FreeStyle Pass include hop-on-hop-off bus tours?
Yes. The hop-on-hop-off bus tours are the focal point of this attraction pass. In addition to the Uptown and Downtown loops, you can hop on the Brooklyn tour, nigh bus or even hop-on hop-off ferry.

No. While it includes hop-on-hop-on buses, they are not suited for regular transportation within the city. It would take you quite some time to get from A to B. Also, keep in mind that the buses only have so many stops along tourist attractions. To explore other spots off the main streets, you may need the subway anyway.

Typically, there are no further FreeStyle Pass discounts. That is because the pass already offers you an incredible discount. Sometimes, however, pages like GetYourGuide may run promotions.
