The 230 5th Rooftop Bar is definitely one of our favorite locations in the city. Its perfect location at 5th Avenue near 27th Street, right near the Flatiron Building in Midtown, makes it even better. This is mainly due to the amazing view that you get from the rooftop bar.
In July, we took this photo of Empire State Building from the bar, as you can see the view is spectacular. There are few other rooftop bars in the city that give you such a perfect view of Midtown Manhattan.
The bar consists of 2 levels: the first is the level with huge panoramic windows and a lounge atmosphere. Everything is very plush and made to be comfy. The views from here are truly sensational.
One floor above the inside area of the bar, is the actual rooftop bar. The space is complete with palm trees and comfortable seating opportunities scattered throughout. The views of the Empire State Building and the golden dome of the New York Life Insurance Company Building are one-of-a-kind. The sounds of the city, combined with the relaxing lounge music, make this bar the perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Unfortunately, the cocktails are only average, and expensive (generally around USD 15). The food is top notch however! We recommend the chicken wings – slightly spicy and lots of meat on the bone!
