Jacob’s Pickles – Homemade Southern Style Comfort Food

If you’re looking for some great Southern-style comfort food, then Jacob’s Pickles on the Upper West Side is a great place to start. The restaurant is considered one of the best in the city. The wait for a table can be super long so we do recommend making a reservation. It is definitely worth the wait. The food is all homemade and fresh. The quality of the ingredients is noticeable and locally sourced.

Why We Love Jacob’s Pickles

First off the ambience of Jacob’s Pickles in the Upper West Side is very welcoming. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Jacob’s Pickles is an ideal spot for brunch during the weekend. The menu ranges from breakfast to dinner and has an abundant amount of choices.

One of the reasons why we love this restaurant is that everything is homemade. We mean everything. That includes their pickles. Here, you can choose from hot, sweet or sour pickles. In addition, there’s everything that is typical to southern inspired comfort food. We’re talking about biscuits, fried chicken, pancakes, mac and cheese and much more.

The cocktails are great and the beer selection is also really impressive. We were at Jacob’s Pickles relatively early in the morning, so it wasn’t crowded yet. We were told that during the weekends the waiting time can be up to 2 hours.
