New York has a new attraction to offer: Flipper’s at The Rink! It’s a roller skating rink at Rockefeller Center that you can visit from April to October. This means that Rockefeller Plaza now has something to offer all year round, in addition to its famous Rockefeller Ice Rink.

Roller Skating at Rockefeller Center

Starting on April 14th, you can combine your visit to the observation deck, Top of the Rock, with the lifestyle of the 1970s. For the first time since 1940, the roller-skating area at Rockefeller Center will open! The family-owned Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace operates Flipper’s at The Rink, New York’s newest roller-skating rink. In addition, there’s also a store where you can buy stylish skater stuff.

When can you visit Flipper’s at The Rink?

Shortly after the ice rink closes, the roller-skating area opens for roller skating. This usually happens in early April.

What are the operating hours of Flipper’s At The Rink?

As with the ice-skating rink in the winter, the hours are:

  • Monday through Wednesday: 12 pm – 10 pm
  • Thursday through Saturday: 12 pm – 12 am
  • Sunday: 12 pm – 10 pm

Where can I get tickets for the roller skating rink?

You can book tickets through the official site here. They cost $20 for adults or $12 for kids (ages 6 – 16). There is an additional $10 fee if you need to rent roller skates.

Take the subway lines B D F M to “47-50 Sts-Rockefeller Ctr” or E M to “5 Avenue-53 St Station”.

Even if you don’t want to put yourself on roller skates, it’s definitely worth planning a few minutes to visit Rockefeller Plaza. After all, just watching people show off their roller-skating skills on the surface promises to be a lot of fun!
