The Winter Garden Theatre opened in 1911 and is located between 50th and 51st Street directly on Broadway. It was the first theater in New York purchased by the Shubert Organization – there are now over 20 in New York City alone. It seats a total of 1,600 people, with the Orchestra section making up the largest part with 1,045 seats.
As you can see from the seating plan of the Winter Garden Theater, the auditorium is very wide compared to many other theaters in New York. This gives you a really good view of the stage from many seats.

Where Are the Best Seats at Winter Garden Theatre Located?
The best view of the stage is from the front to middle Orchestra rows. But also the front mezzanine seats allow a good view of the show (from row P the mezzanine tiers start).
Fun Fact
The building was built back in 1896 by none other than William Vanderbilt and was used as a horse exchange before being converted into a theater in 1911.

Starting June 30, 2023 Back to the Future will be performed at the Winter Garden Theatre. The musical features a book by Bob Gale, co-creator and co-writer of the Back to the Future film trilogy, and new music and lyrics by Emmy and Grammy Award-winning Alan Silvestri and six-time Grammy Award-winning Glen Ballard.
