Originally opened in 1921 as the Ritz Theatre after just 66 days of construction (which is crazy!), the architect was once again Herbert Krapp, who designed many of the theaters that still exist on Broadway today. Though, since 1990, it has borne its present name in honor of the famous theater critic Walter Kerr. Originally, it was the sister theater to The Ambassador Theatre of the Shubert family, who own several theaters on Broadway to this day. It has had an eventful time, having been a radio and TV station over the years and changing hands several times, along with being restored a few times.
The last restoration was probably the most important because it restored the theater to its original 1921 condition. As a result, it has a very special charm and is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful theaters in New York.

In total, the 975 seats are divided into three sections: Orchestra (the largest section), Mezzanine, and a small Balcony area. Two small boxes complete the seating plan. Only the Orchestra area is suitable for wheelchairs.

There are hardly any seats from which you can’t get a good view of the stage. You can still tell that Herbert Krapp put a lot of thought into the best seating plan. That’s why you can’t go wrong with any category here.

4 stars | The Margaritaville Resort Times Square is the only hotel in Times Square with a rooftop pool and brings Mexico to New York! It’s really exciting because I’ve never noticed Times Square with “tropical” touches before. That’s changing now, as the Margaritaville Resort Times Square is bringing a palm tree and beach vacation feel to the Big Apple.
In the hotel itself there are two restaurants and several bars: a Tiki bar, the Licence to Chill and the 5 O’Clock Somewhere bar. You see, they don’t take themselves too seriously, which I really like!

From here you have an incredibly beautiful view of Times Square. In addition, it scores with its rooftop restaurant The View and its very good bar. All this makes the Marriott Marquis one of the best hotels with a view for me!

Along with the Hyatt Times Square, it’s another Times Square hotel that’s one of my top 27 New York hotels with a great view. The rooms are very modern and chic and offer views of Broadway, Times Square or the Hudson River. The location makes it very desirable – yet you can sleep quietly here. This is made possible by the soundproof glazing of the floor-to-ceiling windows.
From Rockefeller Center with its viewing platform “Top of the Rock” to the famous Broadway, where you can watch the most popular musicals in New York, everything is in close proximity.
