Top 3 Harlem Sports Bars

Get out and watch one of the games here!

Harlem is an area in New York that has been up and coming for the past couple of years. More trendy bars, restaurants, and lounges have been appearing. It is an awesome place to visit because it gets you out of the crowds in midtown, but it still gives you the city feel. Harlem sports bars have become popular as they come in all sizes with various atmospheres. There are so many to choose from that it can become overwhelming! We have picked our top 3 for you to read more about below. Let us know if you go to one while you’re in the city!

Insider tip: You may know Harlem to be a rough area, but the west side of Harlem has grown into a great place to visit. If you head East in Harlem, you will see the area is still a bit run down. Stay on the West side and enjoy your time!

Top 3 Harlem Sports Bars

1. Harlem Public

This New York bar brings together sports and a great neighborhood feel! The wait for a table is typically no longer than 20 minutes even though the size of the restaurant in Harlem is medium. They also have bar seating where you can enjoy your food and drinks. When it’s warm outside, they have additional seating on the sidewalk as well. We love the vibe here when it’s warm because they open up the windows and it makes for a pleasant atmosphere. The drink selection includes a variety of craft beers that are always being rotated on draft and a handful of mixed cocktails named after the owner’s daughters. (The Adeline is one of the best!) We love this Harlem sports bar because it is a great place to stop by for a quick drink or hang out for the afternoon to watch sports games!

2. Harlem Tavern

Harlem Tavern is one of the best Harlem sports bars because of its large TVs and outdoor beer garden. It is also spacious and has that comfortable urban bar feel when you walk in. Just blocks from Central Park, they offer outdoor and indoor communal tables as well as smaller tables for a more intimate sitting. They also offer a diverse food and drink selection along with a kids’ menu. In the Winter, the outdoor communal tables are enclosed in a heated area, but in the Spring/Summer, it turns into a large patio. What makes this spot great in the warmer weather is that many of the tables are in the outdoor space along with their biggest outdoor TV screen. It’s an amazing place to watch a sports game with a group of people while soaking up the sun!
