What are the things to see at Hudson Yards, NYC’s newest hotspot for visitors this summer? There’s the new observation deck Edge, the iconic Vessel, but also many great restaurants and tours you can experience at Hudson Yards. Here’s what you shouldn’t miss at Hudson Yards:

Edge NYC is located on the 100th floor of the Hudson Yards. It’s the “hanging” outdoor observation platform which is surrounded by glass walls so visitors can get a better view of the city. Also, a portion of the floor is made out of glass so you can look down 10th avenue. Edge is the highest outdoor observation deck in the Western Hemisphere.

There are few parks as unique as the High Line. To me, the best time to really enjoy the High Line is during the summer months. The elevated freight rail line, located right by Hudson Yards, was repurposed as a public green space that opened in 2009 and now offers amazing views of the city, as well as a place to relax and unwind.

The newest portion of the High Line park is now taking you right to Hudson Yards. The beautiful park, whom’s plant life is based directly off what was growing there while it was abandoned, giving this park a unique and interesting atmosphere!

The High Line stretches from The Meatpacking District all the way to Hudson Yards-34th Street and now feeds directly into Hudson Yards as well.

Belcampo is known for its amazing quality and sustainable meat. The restaurant and butchery was founded in California by Anya Fernald in 2012. It features a 20,000 square-foot USDA-approved slaughter facility which was designed by animal welfare expert, Temple Grandin. Belcampo made its NYC debut at Hudson Yards in 2019 and features a section where customers can buy their packaged meats and bone broth, as well as a dine-in area for their restaurant.

Designed by British Thomas Heatherwick (designer of the “Rolling Bridge and UK Pavilion at Expo 2010), “The Vessel” offers around 2,500 steps to climb up and down. So far the Vessel is still closed to visitors but later this year it’s supposed to open up again.

The Equinox Hotel Hudson Yards is one of the newest and trendiest hotels in New York and also the first hotel by fitness brand Equinox. It’s located right next to the Vessel and the Shops at Hudson Yards.

Set in the heart of Hudson Yards near the Empire State Building & Times Square, Equinox Hotel is the definition of new luxury as the ultimate experience. The hotel offers a stunning pool area, which faces Hudson Yards and it’s the insider location in the area during the warm summer months in the city.

As much as I love the warmth of the sun in the summer in New York City. I also enjoy cooler shopping malls to escape from the heat if I feel like it. As one of my favorite things to do in summer at Hudson Yards the Shops at Hudson Yards are the newest shopping experience in NYC and the perfect place to cool off a little. Here you’ll find luxury designer stores and fine dining restaurants.

Just a short walking distance from Hudson Yards, you’ll reach the home of Circle Line Cruises in New York. One of my favorites cruises that I’ll enjoy every summer is the Best of NYC Cruise which takes you once around the whole island of Manhattan.

This is a great way to explore the city from the water and see more than 25 of the top sights NYC has to offer. You will also get a chance to see Hudson Yards from a different perspective. Since this is one of the most popular cruises make sure to book your tickets beforehand online to secure your spot.

    Mercado Little Spain

    Food Market in Hudson Yards

The Food Hall in the Hudson Yards is a concept room created by chef José Andrés, whose focus is on Spanish cuisine (as the name suggests). The concept is very similar to the Italian Food Market “Eataly”, which I find so ingenious.

In Mercado Little Spain you can either buy Spanish food or eat in one of the three restaurants. Authentic food from Spain always reminds me of summer, so there’s probably no better time going to Mercado Little Spain than during the summer and enjoy a fresh sangria.
