DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) is a neighborhood in Brooklyn that has changed dramatically from what it once was. There are many businesses and restaurants operating in the area. One restaurant we decided to check out was SUGARCANE raw bar grill. Their first restaurant opened up in Miami, then Las Vegas and now their latest one is in DUMBO between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridge.

The Atmosphere at SUGARCANE raw bar grill

The restaurant itself has Cuban roots and this can be seen throughout the decor in the restaurant. However, when you open the menu, we got a little confused. Although the restaurant itself has Latin American roots, the menu is sort of scattered all over the place. It has Japanese, Middle Eastern and Latin American selections. We’re not exactly sure why, but ok, fine. The food was still amazing so that’s that.
Our Lunch at SUGARCANE raw bar grill

All we can say is that the food here is amazing. We ordered their chicken yakitori which was cooked perfectly. We also had their chirashi bowl and poke bowl. The seafood was fresh, and cut perfectly. The flavors and textures blended nicely as well. The presentation was also top notch. It was a great lunch with great people and great food. The price for lunch is a little bit on the expensive side but definitely worth it. If you’re curious about their menu, please visit their page here.
