I am a big fan of Dinner Cruises in New York. For those of you who don’t know the term, dinner cruises are usually evening boat rides with food, music and great views of the skyline. The last tour I got to try out for you was the 3-hour Spirit of New York Dinner Cruise. A really worthwhile cruise with buffet, wine, drinks and live DJ on board the Spirit Yacht. The cruise departs from Chelsea Piers (Pier 61), which is also where the Bateaux Dinner Cruise departs from.

The Spirit of New York Dinner Cruise starts at Chelsea Piers and takes you all the way down to the Brooklyn Bridge. You will have great views of the New York skyline including the Empire State Building, One World Trade Center, Governors Island, the Statue of Liberty and of course the Brooklyn Bridge.
The view of the New York City skyline is just incredible. I still get goosebumps when I think about this tour!
Spirit of New York Dinner Cruise Menu
No question, the food, which was served in buffet form, was awesome and there was something for everyone. Plenty of salad choices, bread, chicken, beef and pork, plus vegetables, mashed potatoes and of course a wide variety of desserts (cakes, cookies, fruit) were all part of the lavish buffet.
The beverage selection is also wide. Various wines and beers are offered on board the Spirit Dinner Cruise, as well as cocktails, but they are extra. Prices are okay and in line with New York restaurant prices. All non-alcoholic beverages are included in the ticket price.
Spirit of New York Dinner Cruise Tickets
I recommend booking the Spirit of New York Dinner Cruise in advance online here to guarantee you can board on your preferred date. You can choose to have a window seat when you purchase your tickets, you can even order extra roses and champagne for your loved one, and you can even eat in a special section cordoned off for you if desired.
On board the Spirit of New York Dinner Cruise
Boarding began promptly at 6:30 pm, so we left Chelsea Piers just as promptly at 7:00 pm. We had a great window seat with a view of the skyline and could enjoy the sunset with a delicious wine. What more could you ask for? The Spirit Yacht has a total of 4 decks (2 of which are outside), from which you can also experience the cruise. You can stay on all decks during the whole cruise and enjoy these special hours from really everywhere.
The outdoor decks have comfortable seating, lounge furniture and entertainment options, such as a foosball table, an XXL Jenga game and much more. Especially when the Spirit of New York passes the Statue of Liberty, you can take really beautiful photos from here. The New York skyline is also wonderfully staged almost all the time.
