New York Turbopass

Is the Turbopass worth it?

The New York Turbopass is one of the lesser-known New York attraction passes. We’ve taken a closer look at the day-based pass and let you know how it works, what’s included and whether the pass could be worth it for you.

What is the New York Turbopass?

New York TurbopassThe Turbopass is a day-based New York attraction pass, like the New York Pass and Sightseeing Pass. It lets you save a lot of money while exploring New York. All you have to do is select the number of days you want to do sightseeing. During this time, which is 1, 2, 3, or 7 days, you can visit as many attractions as you can fit. There are over 100 attractions and tours to choose from. Once purchased, all admissions are included and there won’t be any additional charges.

How does the New York Turbopass work?

  • Step 1: Purchase it

Once you have chosen how many days you would like your pass to be valid for and buy it, you will instantly receive your pass via email delivery. You can then choose to save it on your mobile or print it out.

  • Step 2: Activate it

Using the pass for the first time automatically activates your Turbopass. From that moment on, you have 1, 2, 3 or 7 consecutive calendar days to complete your sightseeing. The Turbopass expires at midnight on the last day regardless of what time you activated your pass. If you visit your first attraction at 5 pm, your first day will only have a few hours left. The earlier you activate your pass, the more time you have to explore.

  • Step 3: Use it

Head to your destination of choice and present the QR code on your pass at the ticket counter. It will be scanned and you will receive your standard admission ticket in return. With the ticket, you’re ready to go! There is no limit as to how many attractions you visit. During your selected validity period, you can visit as many attractions as you can fit in your schedule. The Turbopass doesn’t keep track of the attractions you visit, it only keeps track of how many days your pass is still valid for. Each attraction can only be visited once.

Unless you want to book a guided tour, online reservations are not possible. Simply choose your attractions as you go.

MetroCard

Do not add the MetroCard to your Turbopass!

The Turbopass allows you to add a MetroCard to your purchase. This is totally unnecessary. It’s super easy to buy your MetroCard in New York. There is no need for you to pay extra to obtain a MetroCard in advance. Adding the MetroCard to your pass also means that you will have all documents sent to you via postal service resulting in you no being able to use your pass right away. My advice would be just not to worry about a MetroCard when buying an attraction pass.

Turbopass Fast Track Entry

Though attraction passes focus primarily on saving money and not time, there are a few benefits. Being a Turbopass holder allows you to skip the line at a few attractions.

New York Turbo Pass

My personal opinion

I must admit that I was genuinely surprised by Turbopass’s great offer. I did not expect that from a pass that is barely known. The price-quality-ratio is good and rivals the offer of the Sightseeing Day Pass. Both offer hop-on-hop-off buses for the entire duration of the pass and let you choose from over 100 attractions. The Turbopass even comes a little cheaper, though.

Nevertheless, I would personally choose Sightseeing Pass over Turbopass. Why? The pass is barely known which might cause trouble at attractions. Staff members. Should it gain more recognition in the future, I may change my mind.

I recommend the New York Turbopass to:

  • everyone who wants to maximize their time in New York and save a lot of money doing so
  • those who enjoy the hop-on-hop-off buses
  • first-time visitors and repeat visitors

FAQ

How long can I use New York Turbopass?
Your Turbopass is valid for the time period you chose upon booking. That could be 1, 3, 5 or 7 consecutive days. The day that you are activating your pass is also your first day, regardless of the time. The pass expires at midnight on the last day.

Is there a NYC Turbopass discount code?
Currently, there are no Turbopass promotions available. It is already a heavily discounted pass that undercuts many other offers. Even without a Turbopass discount code, you save quite a bit of money!

Can I share a New York Turbopass with my partner?
No. You cannot share a pass with someone else. You can only visit each attraction once and only use your pass for one attraction every hour, making it impossible to share it.
