Soccer may not be as popular as football in the United States, but it does gain more and more popularity leading to an increased interest in the sport. The New York area has two teams, one of which is the New York Red Bulls.
New York Red Bulls Schedule
The New York Red Bulls are a Major League Football team (comparable to “Premier League”) and play their home games at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey. The team was known as the MetroStars until it was bought by the Austrian beverage manufacturer, Red Bull, in 2006. You can see them play from March through October. Take a look at the Red Bulls Schedule below to find the best date for you:
New York Red Bulls and Coronavirus
Sporting events including soccer have been either postponed indefinitely or canceled for the season. MLS has been hit particularly hard when it comes to the lockdown since soccer has many international players and a lot of them have families abroad, which they aren’t able to see because of travel bans. Coronavirus is spreading throughout the world and has taken everyone by surprise. As of right now, MLS has suspended the season, but there are plans to open training facilities to teams.
New York Red Bulls Tickets & Best Seats
Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey can accommodate up to 25,000 fans, not including the 30 VIP lounges and 1,000 Club seats. That’s not really that big so you can see the field pretty well from just about anywhere, and tickets are not that expensive. The seating chart will give you a better sense of where you might want to sit.
I personally like sections 124 – 128. But the best seats are in sections 111 – 108 because that is where the players enter the arena and have their bench.
How to get to the Red Bull Arena
The arena is located at 600 Cape May Street, Harrison, New Jersey. You can take the train to Newark Penn Station, but then you will still have a 22-minute walk to the arena. Another option is to take the red PATH (Newark – World Trade Center). Don’t get confused: on Saturdays and Sundays, the train only runs between Newark and Journal Street. You can continue on with the blue/orange PATH (Journal Square – 33 Street (via Hoboken).
Budget a little over an hour to get from New York to New Jersey to see the New York Red Bulls. You don’t need to get to the arena earlier than 1 hour before the game. If you can’t see a New York Red Bulls game, maybe try looking for a New York FC match if you’re in the area.
I'm a true New York fan! Not only have I visited the city over 20 times but also have I spent several months here at a time. On this blog, I want to share everything I have learned and discovered, so you can have the best time in the greatest city in the world!
