New York Fashion Week – Review

The Fall and Winter collection presentations and runways recently took place during New York Fashion Week. This year we saw a lot of animal prints, fur coats and bold colorful pieces that really stood out. This year, we went behind the scenes again. We had backstage access, runway access and captured some street style also.

Backstage Access New York Fashion Week

This year we received access to backstage again. Here are a few pictures below. As usual, it can get pretty hectic. Timing is everything. Models are pretty much rotated around certain stations which include, hair, make-up, nails and whatever the designer of the show calls for.

The Runway Atmosphere

A runway show is usually very quick. It’s about 10-20 minutes long depending on how many pieces the designer wants to show. Preparation can take months and sometimes pieces won’t be delivered until the day of the show. Before the show, theres always a run-through so the staff and models know what to do. Usually theres a one hour time slot for the runway. Guests usually arrive late (because it’s fashion) and the actual show won’t start until 30 minutes later. If you do happen to attend a runway show and want to take pictures, please turn off your flash and don’t lean into the runway. It will drive the house photographers at the end of the runway crazy. It can also distract the model walking down the runway. So please, don’t be that person with the flash.

Street Style FW

There were a lot of bold colors and prints this year. Check out some of the Street Style photos from New York Fashion Week below.
