The National Tartan Day Parade in New York celebrates the friendship between Scotland and the USA. What started in 1999 as a small event with two bagpipes and a handful of enthusiasts has now developed into a large parade. Today, more than 3,000 bagpipers and dancers take part and attract thousands of visitors.

When is the National Tartan Day Parade in NYC?

The National Tartan Day Parade in New York takes place on April 6th, 2024. The official start is at 2 pm.

National Tartan Day Parade Route

The New York City Tartan Day Parade starts at 2:00 p.m. at the corner of West 45th Street and 6th Avenue. From here the route leads to 55th Street, always along 6th Avenue. So you are in the middle of Midtown Manhattan!
