“Monty Python’s Spamalot,” the Tony-winning musical from 2005, is set to return to Broadway with performances beginning on Halloween (October 31st). The revival of this classic comedy is set to officially open on November 16th at the St. James Theatre.

The Story of Monty Python’s Spamalot

“Spamalot” narrates the rib-tickling tale of King Arthur and his motley group of Knights of the Round Table as they embark on a divinely ordained quest to find the Holy Grail. However, this is not your traditional Arthurian legend. The musical humorously integrates plot elements from the 1975 film “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” the work it’s “lovingly ripped off” from, to create a show that’s as hilarious as it is unexpected.

Brimming with ludicrous knights, ridiculous tasks, and musical numbers that effortlessly mix the medieval with the modern, the plot effortlessly captures the essence of Monty Python’s absurdist humor. The narrative often breaks the fourth wall, incorporating elements of metatheater and making light-hearted jabs at Broadway conventions, rendering it a comedic masterpiece unlike any other.
