The Story

MJ The Musical in New York tells the successful story of the artist Michael Jackson and takes you back once again to the most important events of his time. It revisits his life through more than 25 of his biggest and best-selling songs and his unique show-stopping performances.

The energetic musical also offers exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpses from 1992, when the King of Pop was preparing for his Dangerous World Tour. Relive the most memorable moments of his story on Broadway!

The Cast

The musical was directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Christopher Wheeldon and the book was written by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage.

Lynn Nottage has an impressive history in theatre, making her Broadway debut with “Sweat” in 2017, which earned her a Tony nomination and a Pulitzer Prize. Her other Pulitzer Prize was awarded in 2009 for “Ruined.” Nottage has been a regular in off-Broadway productions as well, with her works including “Intimate Apparel,” “Mlima’s Tale,” and “By the Way, Meet Vera Stark.”

Christopher Wheeldon, known for his directorial and choreographic work, is most recognized by New York audiences for the 2015 Broadway premiere of “An American in Paris.” His work on “MJ The Musical” has added to his reputation as a distinguished director and choreographer in the industry.
