What a great store: Mercer Street Books & Records has been around for 30 years and still hasn’t changed. Greenwich Village is a neighborhood where many creative people live. This includes book authors, which Mercer Street Books & Records has supported from the beginning. Here you can find new and used books from a wide variety of genres and even vinyl LPs.

If you want to take something home as a souvenir of New York, this store is perfect: when you buy a book here, you’re supporting a store with history and the Greenwich Village community.

The store has a great old school charm and should definitely be on your itinerary for New York.

By the way, a similar souvenir for me is honey, which you can get at the Union Square Green Market. The beehives are on many green roofs in New York and the honey is really sensationally good!
