One of the highlights in the East Village is Dan Kluger’s, Loring Place. The veteran New York restaurateur, who has worked at ABC Kitchen and Union Square Café, His restaurant is an homage to his father, who grew up in the Bronx at 1905 Loring Place.
Loring Place NYC is known among locals for its fresh and creative cuisine. All ingredients are sourced from local farms and are served in the form of “small” or “large” plates. The intention of that is so you can share the food amongst yourselves.
Dan Kluger’s restaurant is located in the East Village and is equally popular for lunch and dinner. During the day it’s very casual and then becomes chic in the evening. We were there for lunch and were immediately impressed by the warm ambience and friendly staff. Around us were locals, business men and a few restauranteurs.
We ordered a salad as an appetizer and spoke with two restauranteurs at the next table, who got inspired by Loring Place for their first restaurant in New York. The two New Yorkers ordered almost everything from the menu and were thrilled. From pizza to pasta, burgers, fish and healthy options such as fresh salads, the menu offers a diverse selection.
All of the plates has a creative touch. The main course for us was pasta with spinach and a chicken salad. A delicious lemon cake rounded out our lunch. The coffee tastes amazing as well as the Mimosas. In terms of price, Loring Place is slightly higher than other restaurants in the area.
