In March 2019, store openings are planned for the shopping center, several restaurants, a park, and Thomas Heatherwick’s Vessel. The Hudson Yards Vessel is reminiscent of a honeycomb and stands out from the surrounding buildings. It will be about 45 meters high and have a total of over 2,500 steps. It is expected that the viewing platform will attract tourists and locals alike. Visiting the Hudson Yards Vessel will be completely free for everyone.

The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards will be the long-awaited Hudson Yards shopping center and will have a wide range of high-priced retailers. So far, AG Jeans by Adriano Goldschmied, Aritzia, Athleta, Banana Republic, The Body Shop, Kiehl’s, Jo Malone, MAC, NYX, Origins, Sephora and Urban Decay have signed their leases. The expansion is in the final stages and completion is scheduled for Spring 2019. They had to push back the date of the original opening last year.

Hudson Yards has also unveiled the “Floor of Discover” at The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards. This will be on the second floor and will house curated shops and a permanent art exhibition space called Snark Park. This is designed by Snarkitecture and has a partnership with KITH Treats, which is a trendy and hip store based out in SoHo.

In the spring of this year, The Shed, which is planned as a six-story exhibition space and event space will be opening. The Shed will be accessible directly from the High Line.

The observation deck of Hudson Yards will also open in 2019.
