5 stars | There are 5 star hotels and there is the Baccarat Hotel and Residences New York – I can sum it up as simply as that. The Baccarat Hotel is an absolute luxury hotel and is one of the best hotels in all of New York City. It was even voted among the 30 best hotels in the world by Condé Nast.
Even the lobby is stunning, and the rooms and suites are equally opulent and classically decorated. In addition, there is a first-class spa with wellness area and bar, an excellent restaurant and bar.
Broadway Plaza HotelHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan

But also because its price-performance-ratio is outstanding!
Hotel 31Hotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
2 Stars | Hotel 31 is located between Park and Lexington Heights on 31st Street, hence the name. Around the hotel there are various cafés, restaurants & bars – we were really satisfied! The Empire State Building, Times Square, Herald Square and Madison Square Park are within easy walking distance. The hotel is almost a bargain by New York standards: prices for double rooms start at 120 EUR (excluding breakfast). The rooms are deliberately kept simple, but this is absolutely fine for a couple of nights. And you will likely use your hotel room mostly for sleeping anyway. Some rooms have their own bathroom – others have a shared bathroom on the same floor and an extra bathroom with toilet. These are cleaned several times a day and are therefore pretty much spotless. The hotel won’t win any design awards in the near future, but the location, the price and the cleanliness make Hotel 31 a recommendation!

Along with the Hyatt Times Square, it’s another Times Square hotel that’s one of my top 27 New York hotels with a great view. The rooms are very modern and chic and offer views of Broadway, Times Square or the Hudson River. The location makes it very desirable – yet you can sleep quietly here. This is made possible by the soundproof glazing of the floor-to-ceiling windows.
From Rockefeller Center with its viewing platform “Top of the Rock” to the famous Broadway, where you can watch the most popular musicals in New York, everything is in close proximity.
MADE HotelHotels & Accommodations in Korea Town
4 stars | MADE Hotel is located in the heart of Midtown and is one of the coolest accommodations in this neighborhood, which I personally love. The hotel is modern, really nicely designed, contains a lot of greenery (which contributes to the wonderful atmosphere) and has as icing on the cake a rooftop bar & lounge called “Lounge Good Behavior” on the 18th floor of the hotel. The view of the city is really nice!
The Empire State Building is only 3 blocks away, Washington Square Park and Union Square are within easy reach, and you don’t even need the subway to get to New York’s many other attractions. The MADE Hotel is located in the Koreatown neighborhood on the border of Murray Hill – that’s why I put it on the list of the best hotels in Murray Hill NYC!
Margaritaville Resort Times SquareHotels & Accommodations in Theatre District
4 stars | The Margaritaville Resort Times Square is the only hotel in Times Square with a rooftop pool and brings Mexico to New York! It’s really exciting because I’ve never noticed Times Square with “tropical” touches before. That’s changing now, as the Margaritaville Resort Times Square is bringing a palm tree and beach vacation feel to the Big Apple.
In the hotel itself there are two restaurants and several bars: a Tiki bar, the Licence to Chill and the 5 O’Clock Somewhere bar. You see, they don’t take themselves too seriously, which I really like!

4 stars | The Motto by Hilton New York City Chelsea is one of the newest boutique hotels in New York. It is centrally located on the border of Chelsea and Gramercy at Madison Square Park – so you can reach all important sights on foot.
The hotel itself is super-stylish and offers a beautiful view of the city. The rooms aren’t huge, but they are very practical, high quality, and tastefully decorated. The hotel’s restaurant and bar are the perfect place to end your day in style.
New York EDITIONHotels & Accommodations in Flatiron District
5 stars | Hotel New York EDITION is located directly at Madison Square Park at the Flatiron Building and therefore perfect for all who are looking for a really nice hotel for their New York trip!
It is one of the best hotels in the Flatiron District of NYC: the rooms are large even by New York standards, it has huge windows from which you have a fantastic view of the city and has its own Michelin-starred restaurant.

You’ll love the atmosphere in the hotel: it’s very stylish, classy and yet cozy. The rooms themselves are large by New York standards and have super comfortable beds.
Pestana Park AvenueHotels & Accommodations in Murray Hill
4 stars | The Pestana Park Avenue is for me one of the most beautiful hotels in Murray Hill: the hotel rooms are really big for New York standards, very nice and modern furnished and some of them even have a balcony from which you can look at the city and especially at the Empire State Building. Royalton Park AvenueHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
4 stars | One of the best hotels in Midtown is the boutique hotel “Royalton Park Avenue”. Besides a wonderful interior (I really like the style), there is even a rooftop bar and pool.
This area spans 2 levels: one is the lounge and the second is just the rooftop terrace. So if you want to stay in style in the heart of Manhattan, there’s no way around the Royalton Park Avenue.

The Peninsula HotelHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
5 stars | The Peninsula Hotel should be included in every list of hotels in New York with the best views of Manhattan. It is located in the center of Manhattan and the skyline seems close enough for you to reach out and touch it. Its location on 55th Street and 5th Avenue means that you can feel the energy of the midst of the city from its terrace. While the views are impressive during the day, they hit a whole ‘nother level as soon as darkness falls. From here you can watch the yellow taxis stream through midtown in the rhythm of the traffic lights and the tiny-looking people hurrying amongst them from above. 4 stars | Roger Hotel is located right next to the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden and many shopping opportunities around Herald Square. The boutique hotel has modernly furnished rooms, some of which offer balconies with views of the city (and the Empire State Building).
The hotel restaurant is very inviting, in part because the menu was created by renowned gourmet chefs and offers a lot of elegant sophistication. Croissants and pastries are served for breakfast, and the Mezzanine lounge invites you to linger with cocktails. The four stars here are definitely justified. The Roger Hotel convinces above all with its urbanity, which fits absolutely perfectly into New York city life.
