Residence Inn by Marriott New York Manhattan-Central ParkHotels & Accommodations in Midtown ManhattanOur Highlight
4 stars | You can’t miss the Residence Inn at Central Park, it is one of the highest buildings in this area. The view from here is beautiful! You can overlook the entire Central Park (in some rooms even from the bathtub), Times Square is not far away and the interior is beautiful. Definitely a hotel tip if you are looking for a hotel in this area!
Shelburne Hotel & Suites by AffiniaHotels & Accommodations in Murray HillOur Highlight
4 stars | The Shelburne Hotel & Suites by Affinia is located in Murray Hill between 37th and 38th Street and is one of my personal recommendation. We ourselves have stayed at this hotel several times …
It is very close to attractions like the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. The shopping street 5th Avenue, Park Avenue, as well as the Gand Central Station and Times Square are also within walking distance. Our room had a view of the Empire – absolutely brilliant!
The Refinery HotelHotels & Accommodations in Midtown ManhattanOur Highlight
4 Stars | I can’t recommend the Refinery Hotel highly enough – it is ideally located (only two blocks away from Bryant Park), has one of the most relaxed rooftop bars in the entire city (with a view of the Empire State Building) and the rooms are large and nicely furnished. You’ll definitely feel at home here!
Ace Hotel New YorkHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
4 stars | This charming boutique hotel has two stylish restaurants and a bar. The Herald Square underground station is in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Each of the spacious rooms is individually designed.
Archer HotelHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
4 Stars | The Archer Hotel is a boutique hotel right on Bryant Park – the perfect location! The rooms are truly stylish and from some of them you can even see the Empire State Building. What we also liked: the small bar on the roof of the hotel!
Arlo NoMadHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
4 Stars | This beautiful hotel is pretty much right where you want to be during your (first) visit to New York: just around the corner from the Empire State Building! This place isn’t only exceptionally stylish, it also has a rooftop bar and terrace from where you have a sensational view of New York – and the Empire State Building from up close, of course. Hard to beat.
Broadway Plaza HotelHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
3 Stars | The Broadway Plaza Hotel is located just two blocks from the Flatiron Building and Madison Square Park and is one of the most popular hotels in the area. It’s a really nice boutique hotel in the heart of the city – definitely a recommendation for me!
Chelsea Pines InnHotels & Accommodations in Chelsea
4 Stars | This stylish bed & breakfast is located directly in Chelsea. The interior of the hotel is a real eye-catcher: the walls are decorated with original Hollywood movie posters, among other things.
citizenM New York Times SquareHotels & Accommodations in Theatre District
4 Stars | The citizenM New York in Times Square is a stylish hotel with a lounge, bar and rooftop bar. It is one of the most popular hotels in the area – and thanks to its location, you can reach all the important sights on foot in no time.
Courtyard New York ManhattanHotels & Accommodations in Hudson Yards
3 Stars | The Courtyard New York Manhattan/Midtown West in New York is located at the Hudson Yards and offers cool design, its own restaurant and bar. The view from the rooms on the higher floors is great – depending on where you stay, you can overlook either the Hudson River or see the Empire State Building.
Doubletree By Hilton New York Times Square WestHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
4 stars | There are not one but several hotels within a few blocks of the Doubletree By Hilton New York Times Square. In my opinion, the “Times Square West” is the best of the bunch. From the upper rooms you have a great view of the city and there is even a roof terrace.
Heritage Hotel New York CityHotels & Accommodations in Flatiron District
3 Stars | The Heritage Hotel New York City is a budget insider tip in the Flatiron District. The rooms are clean (though small) – but you’re right in the middle of the action. It’s perfect for anyone looking for an affordable hotel in a good location. If you are just looking for a room to sleep, so to speak, this is the one for you.
Hilton Garden Inn West 35th StreetHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
3 Stars | The Hilton Garden Inn West 35th Street made it onto my list of the best hotels in New York, not only because it’s sensationally located – many of the most famous sights like the Empire State Building, Bryant Park and Times Square are all within easy walking distance. But also because its price-performance-ratio is outstanding!
Hotel 31Hotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
2 Stars | Hotel 31 is located between Park and Lexington Heights on 31st Street, hence the name. Around the hotel there are various cafés, restaurants & bars – we were really satisfied! The Empire State Building, Times Square, Herald Square and Madison Square Park are within easy walking distance. The hotel is almost a bargain by New York standards: prices for double rooms start at 120 EUR (excluding breakfast). The rooms are deliberately kept simple, but this is absolutely fine for a couple of nights. And you will likely use your hotel room mostly for sleeping anyway. Some rooms have their own bathroom – others have a shared bathroom on the same floor and an extra bathroom with toilet. These are cleaned several times a day and are therefore pretty much spotless. The hotel won’t win any design awards in the near future, but the location, the price and the cleanliness make Hotel 31 a recommendation!
Hotel Millennium BroadwayHotels & Accommodations in Theatre District
4 Stars | The Millennium Broadway Hotel was called Millennium Times Square until recently and is located – as the name suggests – right in the pulsating heart of Manhattan. Although it is no longer the most modern hotel, it scores points for its location.
Hyatt Centric Times Square New YorkHotels & Accommodations in Theatre District
4 Stars | The Hyatt Centric is a hotel right at Times Square New York and has a lounge on the roof and really nice rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows. So you have a wonderful view of the city. The rooms on the upper floors are absolutely stunning!
JW Marriott Essex House New YorkHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
4.5 stars | There are 439 rooms and 70 suites in the approximately 140-metre-high JW Marriott Essex House, all of which have recently been redesigned. The stunning hotel impresses with art deco designs, intelligent use of technology and an impressive interior with a view of Manhattan and Central Park. The JW Marriott Essex House is also located at the southern end of Central Park, not far from Columbus Circle.
MADE HotelHotels & Accommodations in Korea Town
4 stars | MADE Hotel is located in the heart of Midtown and is one of the coolest accommodations in this neighborhood, which I personally love. The hotel is modern, really nicely designed, contains a lot of greenery (which contributes to the wonderful atmosphere) and has as icing on the cake a rooftop bar & lounge called “Lounge Good Behavior” on the 18th floor of the hotel. The view of the city is really nice!
The Empire State Building is only 3 blocks away, Washington Square Park and Union Square are within easy reach, and you don’t even need the subway to get to New York’s many other attractions. The MADE Hotel is located in the Koreatown neighborhood on the border of Murray Hill – that’s why I put it on the list of the best hotels in Murray Hill NYC!
Millennium Hilton New York One UN PlazaHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
4 stars | The Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza is also called “ONE UN New York” and is one of the hotels in New York fwith a wunderful view over the East River, Chrysler and Empire State Building and the newest observation deck The Summit.
As the name suggests, you’re right by the UN building in Murray Hill – it’s quiet, there are lots of relaxed bars and restaurants near you. This is the reason why I like Murray Hill so much!
New York EDITIONHotels & Accommodations in Flatiron District
5 stars | Hotel New York EDITION is located directly at Madison Square Park at the Flatiron Building and therefore perfect for all who are looking for a really nice hotel for their New York trip!
It is one of the best hotels in the Flatiron District of NYC: the rooms are large even by New York standards, it has huge windows from which you have a fantastic view of the city and has its own Michelin-starred restaurant.
Another highlight is the bar: super-stylish, the atmosphere is great, and the cocktails are top-notch. My conclusion: the Hotel New York EDITION is just awesome!
New York Marriott MarquisHotels & Accommodations in Theatre District
4 Stars | The Marriott Marquis is a fantastic hotel with a 360° panoramic restaurant in Times Square New York. It’s a great place to stay, especially if you book the “City View” rooms. You guessed it: The view from these rooms is absolutely phenomenal!
Pestana Park AvenueHotels & Accommodations in Murray Hill
4 stars | The Pestana Park Avenue is for me one of the most beautiful hotels in Murray Hill: the hotel rooms are really big for New York standards, very nice and modern furnished and some of them even have a balcony from which you can look at the city and especially at the Empire State Building. It has only recently opened, so the furnishings from the lobby to the terrace to the rooms are all up to date.
Attractions like Bryant Park and Grand Central Station are within a few minutes walking distance, you are in the heart of the city!
Royalton Park AvenueHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
4 stars | One of the best hotels in Midtown is the boutique hotel “Royalton Park Avenue”. Besides a wonderful interior (I really like the style), there is even a rooftop bar and pool.
This area spans 2 levels: one is the lounge and the second is just the rooftop terrace. So if you want to stay in style in the heart of Manhattan, there’s no way around the Royalton Park Avenue.

4 Stars | The Manhattan Club is a really nice hotel in Midtown, just three blocks from Central Park. The rooms are pleasant and stylish, and all the main sights of New York are within walking distance of the hotel.
The Marcel at GramercyHotels & Accommodations in Gramercy
4 stars | The Marcel is one of the best and most popular hotels in Gramercy Park of New York. The rooms are super-beautiful and stylishly decorated and it almost feels like a boutique hotel. A special highlight is the small but nice roof terrace, from which you can even see the Empire State Building.
The location in Gramercy NYC is ideal for those who are looking for a central but quiet hotel. Important attractions are within walking distance, Union Square and Madison Square Park with the Flatiron Building are just 3 blocks away.
The Nomad HotelHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
5 Stars | This luxurious hotel is located just a five-minute walk from Madison Square Garden. The rooms are stylishly furnished, and you can enjoy a great view of the city from every room.
The Peninsula HotelHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
5 stars | The Peninsula Hotel should be included in every list of hotels in New York with the best views of Manhattan. It is located in the center of Manhattan and the skyline seems close enough for you to reach out and touch it. Its location on 55th Street and 5th Avenue means that you can feel the energy of the midst of the city from its terrace. While the views are impressive during the day, they hit a whole ‘nother level as soon as darkness falls. From here you can watch the yellow taxis stream through midtown in the rhythm of the traffic lights and the tiny-looking people hurrying amongst them from above. You can also enjoy this incredible view from your bed in the spa area thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows. The Peninsulas small rooftop bar – The Salon de Ning – is also a great spot to spend your night!
The Plaza New YorkHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
5 Stars | The most famous hotel around Central Park is likely The Plaza. Opening in 1907, the world-renowned luxury hotel represents a piece of New York’s rich history. Of course, it can’t be missing from any such list of the best hotels in city. The Plaza has become a real New York landmark. So many stars and other illustrious guests have walked through the doors of this iconic building over the years. You likely notice the hotel from the 90s classic movie Home Alone 2. The façade in the style of the French Renaissance and the impressive interior design can also be seen in many other famous productions. The Plaza is located at the southern end of Central Park, not far from 5th Avenue.
The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central ParkHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
5 Stars | The Ritz-Carlton presents itself as an oasis of luxury in the heart of New York City, especially after a recent redesign of the entire hotel. The new la Prairie Spa leaves nothing to be desired and the Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge on the second floor of the hotel offers cocktails with a magnificent view of Central Park. The Ritz-Carlton is located at the southern end of Central Park. I mean, what else would you expect from a Ritz? It’s phenomenal.
The Setai Fifth AvenueHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
5 stars | The Setai Fifth Avenue at the Empire State Building was once called “The Langham” and is a luxury hotel with great service that impresses couples in particular. The Langham Place, New York, Fifth Avenue is located in the city’s most popular neighborhood and has great public transportation connections.
The rooms are very modernly furnished and just under 40m² in size. The bathrooms convince with shower and bathtub and a TV integrated in the mirror. Sports enthusiasts will love the in-house gym, which is very well equipped, and gastro fans will be delighted with the Michelin-starred restaurant. Being right next to the Empire State Building, The Setai Fifth Avenue is perfectly situated for a day of sightseeing in New York.
This hotel at the Empire State Building is particularly suitable for travelers with a slightly higher travel budget, as the Langham Palace is not entirely inexpensive, but something very special in any case!
Warwick New YorkHotels & Accommodations in Midtown Manhattan
4 Stars | The Warwick New York is a historical hotel close to Central Park, Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall on 5th Avenue. It can boast not one, but two great restaurants and many beautifully decorated rooms. In my opinion, this feels more like a 5-star-hotel. A very charming and luxurious place to stay.
