We think fall in New York is one of the best seasons ever – that’s why you should miss any of these events!

1. Bryant Park Film Festival (until September 20, 2021)

One of the best fall festivals in New York is visiting the free Bryant Park Film Festival and picnic performances in Bryant Park. In the heart of Manhattan, people gather in the summer months with blankets and chairs they’ve brought themselves to relax at the outdoor movie theater and concerts by the New York Philharmonics. You can get a seat from 5pm, the films start around 8pm as darkness falls, and the Philharmonic concerts 7pm. 2. Brooklyn Americana Music Festival (September 18-19, 2021)

Pier 6 in beautiful Brooklyn Bridge Park is home to the Brooklyn Americana Music Festival. On the weekend of September 18-19 from 3:00-7:30 pm you can attend this free festival and enjoy 20 artists who will be performing live. The lineup will range from country to folk, blues, blue grass to jazz.

3. Summer Stage Festival (until September 21, 2021)

At this event you can visit over 100 concerts & shows for free in many parks all over New York. It’s one of the most popular summer events in New York and a MUST DO for locals. 4. New York Film Festival (September 24 – October 10, 2021)

The 59th New York Film Festival will take place from September 24 to October 10, 2021 – it’s an event series from the famous Lincoln Center. There are two different types of tickets you can use to support this non-profit organization: on the one hand, virtual tickets for online events and tickets for films that are shown in public – as drive-ins! There are three different drive-ins: in Brooklyn, the Bronx and Queens.

5. Superhero Festival 2021 (September 25, 2021)

The Superhero Festival is organized by the organization “New York State of Mind” (NYSoM) now for the 4th time and is a great free event in autumn (not only) for kids. Here they can create their own superheroes, participate in races (“The Flash vs. Sonic the Hedgehog”) and a scavenger hunt.

6. NYC Comic Con (October 7th – 10th)

Attention all comic and anime fans! New York in October holds the world-famous Comic Con, where you can meet the actors of your favorite childhood comic series and other legends of the industry. Cosplay is a very popular activity during this event, so if you’re out in the city, and you are met by people dressed up as comic heroes, don’t be surprised. 7. The New Yorker Festival (October 4 – 10, 2021)

The New Yorker Festival, organized by the publisher of the same name, will take place for the 21st time. It is one of the most popular fall festivals in New York, bringing you the “biggest names in politics, literature, film, music, art, and pop culture on panels, discussions, and performances” over 7 days.

8. New York Coffee Festival (October 8 – 10, 2021)

This annual coffee event takes place in New York again and is obviously for coffee lovers who can’t function in the morning without their caffeine. There are endless tastings of various roasts and workshops with baristas from Toby’s Estate Coffee to Irving Farm. Last year, the CEO of Gregory’s Coffee was present at some events. 9. New York Film Festival (until October 11, 2021).

10. New York City Wine and Food Festival (October 14 – 17, 2021)

This is for all of the foodies and wine connoisseurs.  The New York City Wine and Food Festival offers more than 100 events over 3 days. There’s everything from tastings of America’s favorite foods to intimate dinners with world-renowned chefs, cooking classes, nutrition seminars, wine tasting, and parties. 11. New York Comedy Festival (November 8 – 14)

Do you want to experience good laughs? Well, then you’re in luck. From November 8th to the 14th, The New York Comedy Festival will take place. Popular comedians such as Tracy Morgan, Trevor Noah, and Stephen Colbert have either performed in the past or will partake in the upcoming festival.
