May 6: NYC Holi Hai Festival

Similar to what we know from Germany, there is the Festival of Colors in New York. At Governors Island you will meet on 6th May to welcome the spring. May 28th: ​​Family Fun Day (free)

3rd June: Figment Festival (free)

The Figment Festival is an interactive art event, which is organized exclusively by volunteer work. There is a mini golf course, as well as a large tree house and a pavilion made of recycled aluminum! More information can be found here .


11-12. June: Jazz Age Lawn Party

The Jazz Age Lawn Party is so popular that it takes place twice! It is a theme party of the 1920s, where the highlight is live jazz music of the Dreamland orchestra, there are classic cocktails to drink and all suit the motto of clothes of the decade. There are numerous food stands and vintage markets on the spot where you can buy unusual hats and clothes – if you do not have a fitting outfit for the 20s, you can buy one on site! 24-25. June: Pinknic – Rosé Festival

Another highlight of the summer on Governors Island is the Pinknic – Rosé Festival. At the second day of the festival, there are tons of rosé and champagne, delicacies of the chef Chris Santos and live performances of bands, DJs, acrobats, jugglers and stilts! If that is not enough, the ferris wheel and the large pool, which are built on the island, will surely convince you! To participate in this insane event is not very cheap, but certainly unique. 22 July: South’n The City Picnic

Enjoy a day at Governors Island where the South meets the North at this after work party! Southern music, fashion, and culture will all be a part of this picnic experience. Tickets can be purchased here!

29/30. July: Poetry Festival (free of charge)

For the seventh time the Poetry Festival in New York takes place in summer. There will be more than 250 poets, and local booksellers will be able to buy suitable books and browse through the vintage collections of artists and hobbyists. 6 August: Brooklyn Music Festival

For the fourth time, you will celebrate the wonderful Brooklyn district of Governors Island with indie pop, hip hop, funk, alternative rock and house music. 20. August: NYC Volkswagen Traffic Jam

This is a one of a kind car show with a line up of 100 Beatles, Buses, Dune Buggies, and other original 1950s-1970s VWs. The vintage car show will begin at 10am and end at 5pm.

9 September: PopUp Dinner

At the end of the season at Governors Island you meet again for a big picnic on the island! Here, above all, creative minds are in demand.
