The fireworks have historically taken place near the Brooklyn Bridge, but have also happened at the southern tip of Roosevelt Island and the United Nations building. If you’re dying to see the famous 4th of July fireworks from your hotel, or even better, from the rooftop terrace, it’s best to book two hotels and then cancel one for free when the official location on the East River is announced.
Very important: When booking your hotel, always make sure that the rooms are facing the East River. After all, this is where the 60,000+ fireworks have been ignited in recent years, making this incredible event in July so impressive.
