Shopping on Fifth Avenue in New York

Fifth Avenue is perhaps one of the most famous shopping streets in the world. Most people assume that only luxury labels such as Hermes, Gucci, Tiffany, Prada, and others are on this street, but there are also a variety of other recommendable shops to visit. If you ever stroll along 5th Avenue from Central Park and walk along the way downtown, you’ll notice that each section is completely different.

Fifth Avenue runs from Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village to 143rd Street in Harlem. The famous avenue covers a distance of almost 7 miles meaning that a walk down the street will take you around 2.5 hours.

Shops on Fifth Avenue in New York

The most recognized street when shopping in New York is Fifth Avenue between 49th Street and 60th Street. Here you will see one luxury brand after another and retail space is among the most expensive in the world.

Next to the popular Apple Store on 5th Ave which was newly renovated in 2019 and famous for its glass cube entry, you will find Tiffany & Co. and Gucci (on 57th Street) next to the Trump Tower. The Apple Store is one of my 34 favorite flagship stores in NYC and should be on your list when you love shopping!

Below is a list of the biggest name-brand shops along the renowned avenue in our Fifth Avenue Shopping Guide.
